Blackburn midfielder ready for tough end to testing season

Blackburn club captain David Dunn knows that Rovers are facing 'three cup finals' as they battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The Ewood Park outfit snapped a five-game losing streak with their 2-0 success at home to Norwich last time out, but remain embedded in the drop zone, three points from safety with just a trio of games remaining. One of those fixtures is a crucial home clash with fellow strugglers Wigan, with the Latics encounter sandwiched by testing trips to London to tackle Tottenham this weekend and then Chelsea on the final day of the season. Steve Kean's men have endured a season of struggle, with their on-field difficulties played out against a backdrop of supporter unrest over the direction of the club under owners Venky's. First on the agenda is Sunday's White Hart Lane clash with top-four hopefuls Spurs, live on Sky Sports 1HD, with midfielder Dunn fully aware that they cannot afford any more setbacks in the run-in.

Crucial

He told Sky Sports News: "I think this year everyone knows it has been a really testing season for us, both on and off the pitch. "It is going to take a really big effort. At times on Saturday (against Norwich) we played OK, I didn't think it was the best we've played this season but we got a result. "Certainly at this stage of the season a much needed three points is crucial. "We have got to go down to Tottenham and really give them a good game and try and win the game. "The Wigan game a week after is a really big one. I would say that the next three fixtures are three cup finals for us."
