Midfielder ready to snub boyhood idols Hibs

Danny Swanson has revealed that he is ready to snub a move to boyhood idols Hibernian in order to push through a switch to England. The 25-year-old midfielder is available as a free agent after severing ties with Dundee United. He made his last appearance for the Terrors against Motherwell on Sunday. Swanson is now looking to make a fresh start, and would prefer to do that in England.

Strange

He admits he has the opportunity to link up with Hibs, the side he supported growing up, but feels a complete 'change of scenery' is required. "It might sound strange as Hibs are my team but my preferred option right now is to head to England," Swanson told the Daily Record. "I've a few irons in the fire and I'm hoping something comes off as I'm desperate for a change of scenery." Swanson has spent the last four years at Tannadice and feels he needs to take on a new challenge if he is to recapture the form that saw him earn a call-up to the Scotland squad in October 2011. Sky Sports understands that Middlesbrough and Leicester are among the clubs to have expressed an early interest in his services.
