Jonathan Walters claims adrenaline will kick in during Republic of Ireland's Euro 2012 campaign despite a long club season.

Ireland forward has played nearly 60 games already this season

Jonathan Walters claims adrenaline will kick in during Republic of Ireland's Euro 2012 campaign despite a long club season. The Stoke City forward has played 56 games this season for club and country with the Potters having started their Europa League campaign in July. But, after scoring in Ireland's warm-up game against a Tuscany Select XI in Italy on Tuesday, the 28-year-old has dismissed talk of fatigue being an issue. "Yeah I feel great," Walters told Sky Sports News. "Obviously it's pushing on to 60 games now for the season. "But I played less than 45 minutes the other day and 45 minutes today. "The adrenaline is kicking in now and I just want the tournament to get started." The Irish players have been preparing for the European Championships from a training base in Montecatini - a place that manager Giovanni Trapattoni knows well. Walters added: "The manager said last night the first time he came here was in 1958 with Milan and it brought him luck so hopefully it'll bring us luck going into the tournament. "We've been locked away quite a bit but you've just got to deal with it. It's a lovely place."
