Leyton Orient striker Kevin Lisbie insists that he is focused solely on doing well for the club this season and not his long-term future.
The former Jamaica international is entering the final year of his contract at the Matchroom Stadium.
The experienced forward finished as Orient's top scorer last term after netting 12 times and he is keen to carry that form into the new campaign, despite the uncertainty regarding his future.
"I think that, as players, we all want that bit of security, but there are some big players currently out of contract this year and it doesn't bother me too much to be entering the final year of my contract," Lisbie told
Sky Sports.
Concentrating
"I've been in this situation before and the best thing to do is focus on your football and if you do well then doors open come January onwards.
"If I have the season that I know I can have then I'm sure a contract will be offered to me, whether it be at Orient or elsewhere, so I'm just concentrating on playing well and scoring goals.
"Considering that I scored 12 goals last season when I didn't have a proper pre-season and didn't play a game until September then I should be hitting a good few more this year, but it doesn't always work out like that.
"I'm hoping to hit the ground running straight away and if that happens then I should get a lot more than 12 to my name."
