Poland international snubs reported interest from Premier League

Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have confirmed a new contract with Poland international Jakub Blaszczykowski. The 26-year-old's previous deal was due to expire next summer, but his new terms tie him to Signal-Iduna-Park until June 2016. Blaszczykowski, who enhanced his reputation at Euro 2012 with an excellent goal in the 1-1 draw with Russia, had been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs. But last Friday he revealed he was in contract talks with Dortmund and he is now delighted to have secured his future. Blaszczykowski, who last season scored six goals in 29 appearances to help Dortmund retain the Bundesliga title, told his club's official website: "I am very, very happy about the new agreement.

Heart

"There are not many clubs out there who have such a large fanbase and there are also not many clubs who have been able to do what we have achieved in the last two league seasons. "It is great to remain a player of this big club Borussia Dortmund." Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc is pleased to have secured Blaszczykowski, who also helped the club to the 2012 German Cup. Zorc said: "We are delighted to have agreed new terms with Kuba (Blaszczykowski). "Kuba has shown in the most recent Bundesliga season why he is such an important player at our club. Kuba also has the Dortmund emblem very much stored in his heart."
