Striker back at Burnley for an undisclosed fee

Burnley have completed the signing of Sam Vokes from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract. Sky Sports sources earlier on Tuesday revealed the Wales striker was in talks with the Turf Moor club, where he last season spent two months on loan. Vokes had struggled to make an impact at Wolves and made just four league starts after arriving in 2008 at Molinuex from Bournemouth. But the 22-year-old scored two goals in nine appearances with Burnley and manager Eddie Howe was suitably impressed to pursue a permanent deal. A statement on the club's official website read: "Burnley have bolstered their strike force by completing the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sam Vokes. "The Clarets have paid an undisclosed fee to sign the 22-year-old Welsh international on a three-year deal." Vokes could in November face relegated Wolves in the Championship when the former Premier League club travel to Turf Moor.
