West Ham midfielder will spend the season at St Andrews

Ravel Morrison has joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan from West Ham United after failing to earn a place in Sam Allardyce's line-up. The 19-year-old joined from Manchester United for £650,000 in January but has only managed one appearance for the club. He has made more headlines off the field in his career, most notably when he was fined £7,000 by the FA for comments he made on Twitter. It is thought Allardyce is keen for him to get regular football, and the chance to be a part of Blues' push for promotion would seem to be the ideal challenge. He could make his debut for Lee Clark's men in their pre-season friendly against Royal Antwerp on Saturday. His first competitive game will be against Barnet in the Capital One Cup next week before Blues' championship opener against Charlton on August 18th.
