West Brom striker says victory over Liverpool is just the start

Romelu Lukaku has insisted West Bromwich Albion will not get carried away following their impressive victory over Liverpool on the opening day of the season. Questions had been asked before the start of the Premier League campaign about whether the Baggies might struggle after Roy Hodgson's departure. But there were encouraging signs at the weekend as Steve Clarke's men produced a fine display to overcome Liverpool 3-0 at The Hawthorns. Lukaku scored on his debut after arriving on loan from Chelsea, but will not be resting on his laurels as he knows there will be plenty of highs and lows over the months ahead.

Humble

"We have to keep our feet on the ground because the Premier League is a really difficult league, so we have to work hard every day and be humble," the striker said in the Daily Star. "We have to work hard in training and prepare ourselves really well for each game. "If we can play like this all season, we will have a great season. "We still have to be humble and realistic because sometimes we will have bad games. "But as long as we keep picking up points, that's the main thing."
