New signing looking to push on after brace against Orient

Everton forward Kevin Mirallas insists there is a lot more to come after his dream home debut on Wednesday night. The Belgium international, who moved from Olympiakos earlier this month, made his first start and scored two goals for the Toffees in the 5-0 Capital One Cup second-round rout of Leyton Orient. While he admits the evening could hardly have gone better, he says he is not yet fully up to speed in terms of fitness and has promised the performance was just a taster of what lies in store. The 24-year-old told the club's official website: "I really enjoyed it and could not be happier. It was a dream debut to score two goals and was a night I will remember. "When you score twice you start thinking about scoring three or four but it certainly wasn't a night for frustration or being annoyed. "I am very happy with how it went - it could not have gone much better."

Regarding his fitness, Mirallas said: "That was only my fourth game, including my pre-season, so I am a long way from peak condition and there is a lot more to come from me. "Training has been tough but I am getting there. I am not afraid of hard work. "I am a hard worker myself and I know you need to put it in to get success." Everton are away at West Brom in the league on Saturday and Mirallas is taking nothing for granted as to whether or not he might keep his place in the team. "As I have said, my physical condition is not perfect yet," Mirallas said. "I am tired after the 90 minutes. Hopefully I can play some part this weekend but the manager (David Moyes) will know when it is the right time for me to start."
