Luis Suarez: Crowned the Premier League's top performer for a second successive month

Premier League: Luis Suarez (Liverpool)

The Uruguayan retains the award he won last time with another impressive month in a Liverpool jersey, notching another three goals for the Reds.

His tally included a brace in the 3-0 win against QPR and he was also on target in the 4-0 win over Fulham as Brendan Rodgers' side won four league games in December.

The Reds are currently sitting in eighth place in the Premier League, nine points off the top four.

Suarez's 19 goals in all competitions has been a massive boost so far as the club look to earn silverware and return to the UEFA Champions League.

Championship: Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Wilfried Zaha reclaims the gong he last won in October. Despite only scoring one goal throughout December - in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield - Zaha played his full part as Palace lost just once during the month.

Zaha continues to link up with striker Glenn Murray, as the two look to guide Ian Holloway's fourth-placed side back into the automatic promotion berths in what will no doubt be a dramatic finish to the Championship season.

But there is speculation the 20-year-old youngster could leave Selhurst Park after he has caught the eye of Manchester United and Arsenal with his impressive performances this season.

David McGoldrick (Coventry City)

David McGoldrick retained his crown in December after notching five times during the month for the Sky Blues.

He scored braces against Doncaster and Walsall, with his goals ensuring that Coventry flew up the table, and currently sit comfortably in 10th.

This will be his last League One gong for the foreseeable future as his prowess in front of goal saw McGoldrick earn a loan move to Championship side Ipswich Town, where he will now have the opportunity to test his skills against tougher opposition.

Adebayo Akinfenwa (Northampton Town)

Adebayo Akinfenwa won the fourth tier award as Northampton lost just once in the league, with the striker scoring in that 3-2 defeat to Cheltenham.

The striker has proved a real handful in the Cobblers' forward line, being their top goalscorer this season, with 14 in all competitions.

He has played his full part as the Cobblers currently sit in tenth in League Two, just one point off the play-offs and six points behind the automatic promotion spots, having two games in hand over third-placed Exeter City.
