Eddie Howe feels that Bournemouth still have work to do if they are to remain a Premier League team next season

Eddie Howe insists Bournemouth are still not free from the spectre of relegation - and is demanding no let-up until they are.

Bournemouth are 14th, 10 points clear of Sunderland and Norwich in 17th and 18th respectively, both of whom have four games remaining.

While many would argue it would take an extraordinary turnaround in form and fortune for Bournemouth to slip back to the Championship, Howe is calling for one final push.

He said: "I've been saying all along that we don't feel safe and that's still not changed. Until we are mathematically safe, I will not relax.

"I think the recent period has been difficult, with the media and everyone else saying we are comfortable.

"We don't feel that internally, we feel we have got to finish the job ourselves. I am very keen to try and get a good result this weekend.

"I'm in an impossible position at this time because the outside world will say we are safe, but I have seen a lot stranger things than teams putting together a run of three of four straight wins and getting out of trouble and suck us in.

"We have to be ultra-professional. We have asked the players for the same attitude and professionalism they have given us throughout the season.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was full of praise for Leicester as they close in on their first Premier League title

"We have run into some teams in good moments and it has been difficult in recent weeks. We need to get out attitude right for the visit to Everton because it is going to a difficult game for us."

Howe, meanwhile, insists he remains fully committed to Bournemouth amid reports suggesting he could be the next Everton manager.

Roberto Martinez's position at Goodison Park appears precarious following a season of underachievement, and more fan protests are planned for Saturday.

Asked if he would be interested in succeeding Martinez, Howe said: "I don't think I have to reaffirm my commitment here every week, which seems to be a regular pattern. I love it here and I'm committed to the job.

"When you're a manager yourself you have the full support and understanding of other managers. It's a very difficult profession and you're judged constantly every week on your results, on a lot of aspects of your job. It's very tough at this level."
