Arsenal have announced that defender Gavin Hoyte has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The 18-year-old recorded his first senior appearances for the Gunners this season, featuring in the Premier League and Carling Cup. Hoyte - younger brother of Justin, who joined Middlesbrough in August - has been at Arsenal since the age of nine and turned professional in September 2007. The England youth international, who can play across the back four, currently captains the club's reserves side.
