Gunners youngster joins for rest of the season

Watford have signed Arsenal defender Gavin Hoyte on loan for the remainder of the season. Hoyte is highly regarded at Emirates Stadium and signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners a fortnight ago. He made his debut earlier this season in the Carling Cup tie with Sheffield United, and also featured against Wigan and Burnley in the competition. The 18-year-old was also handed his first Premier League start for Arsenal in the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City back in November. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now keen for Hoyte to gain further first-team experience and has sanctioned a move to Watford. The full-back, who can also play in the centre of defence, will be available for the Hornets' FA Cup third-round tie against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
