Paul Scholes has every intention of making the most of the few years he has left in football.
At 34-years-old, the Manchester United midfielder accepts that his glittering career is entering its final throws.
The combative playmaker will have plenty of happy memories to look back on when he does decide to hang up his boots, with a 15-year spell at Old Trafford bringing eight Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two UEFA Champions League crowns and 66 England caps.
However, despite the impressive collection of medals and accolades he can already boast, Scholes remains as hungry as ever to add to that roll of honour before the curtain comes down on his playing days.
"My desire to win more trophies is still strong," he said.
"Manchester United is a massive club that demands that you win things.
"If you are just happy to go along and not earn medals there is no point in you being here.
"We are almost at the end of January now and in a great position to be successful this season. Hopefully we can see it through."

United remain on course to claim an unprecedented quadruple this season, while their standing at the top of world football was secured when they claimed the Fifa World Club Cup in December.
With the games coming thick and fast, Scholes accepts that his ageing legs can no longer cope with the rigours of competing on multiple fronts, but he is still hoping to play a pivotal role for Sir Alex Ferguson's men as they attempt to rewrite the history books.
"As you get older, you don't play as often which is the manager's way of looking after you and getting the best out of you," he said.
"I don't go forward or score goals like I used to or would like to. We probably saw the end of those bursts into the penalty area about two years ago.
"It is just one of those things and something you have to accept.
"I know the end is not too far away for me but as long as I am here I will just try my best to help the team in whatever way I can."
