Gunners new-boy calls for patience

Andrey Arshavin has warned Arsenal supporters that he needs time to settle into his new surroundings. The Russia international joined The Gunners on deadline day at the end of the January transfer window. Despite being 27-years-old and one of Europe's hottest talents, the move to London represents the first time the highly-rated playmaker has plied his trade outside of his homeland. Arshavin believes he made the right decision in joining the Gunners but has called for patience as he looks to grow accustomed to new team-mates and a different way of life. "I've never left Russia before, never moved out of St Petersburg," the former Zenit ace said in The People. "These are completely new feelings for me and I need to get accustomed to them. Everything in London is going to be unusual and new for me. "In professional terms, though, I have no doubts at all that I made the right move. I hope that Arsenal's footballers and staff will help me to adapt. "I've already met all the players but of course I can't say I know them. I only had time to say a word or two to them."
