Latics boss expects striker call within the next seven days

Wigan manager Roberto Maritnez has demanded a final decision from Espanyol regarding striker Raul Tamudo, skysports.com understands. Martinez is desperate to reinforce his attacking options at the DW Stadium ahead of the new season, with Hugo Rodallega lacking experience. Tamudo is reported to have emerged as the Latics' prime target and the Premier League outfit are prepared to pay £2million for the 31-year-old. The Espanyol legend, who has played more than 300 games for the Catalan outfit, is said to be willing to accept a three-year deal and superior salary to move to England. But Tamudo's Primera Liga club are unwilling to allow the forward to leave in a cut-price deal in an ongoing transfer saga. Martinez has, therefore, asked Espanyol for a definitive answer over Tamudo in the next seven days.
