Portsmouth are set to hold talks with Hajduk Split striker Nikola Kalinic on Friday.
Kalinic is a reported target of Real Zaragoza and Bologna, while Porto have been strongly linked with an interest.
The 21-year-old Croatia international is now poised for discussions with Premier League club Portsmouth over a proposed switch.
Meanwhile, Pompey are expected to make a decision over whether to hand deals to trialists Thierry Audel, Fabrice Pancrate and Modeste M'bami after the weekend.
French defender Audel told skysports.com: "I am here for a trial and I hope to convince the club. Let's wait and see if I can impress the management.
"I am confident my attributes and skills are suitable for the Premier League."
