Graham Dorrans is aiming for a regular spot in the West Brom first team after making his first start of the season last weekend.
The 24-year-old had missed the final ten games of last season after suffering an ankle injury in training at the start of March.
The Scotland international has already played in the Carling Cup and made two league appearances from the bench this season, but Sunday's game at Norwich marked his first Premier League start for the Baggies since a 1-1 draw with Stoke in February.
Dorrans is delighted to have finally made it back onto the pitch and is now bidding to keep hold of his place in the Baggies starting XI.
"I haven't had many minutes this season but hopefully I've got myself fit and I can stay in the side," Dorrans told the club's official website.
"I had a bad injury and I'm still working on that to get it stronger. I need to get myself that little bit fitter and that little bit sharper.
"But it was my first game back in the Premier League so hopefully I can keep improving and getting fitter and get 90 minutes in.
"You only get match fit by playing matches and that's what I want to do.
"I think I did okay at Norwich but there is a lot of competition for places and everyone will be chomping at the bit to get back in.
"But hopefully I've done enough to keep my place."
