Ivorian striker insists senior players support Villas-Boas
Didier Drogba has rubbished suggestions he gave a half-time team talk during Chelsea's FA Cup home draw against Championship side Birmingham City.
The Ivorian, 33, was seen rallying his Blues team-mates in the Stamford Bridge tunnel as they re-emerged for the second half of Saturday's fifth-round tie.
The pep talk added further fuel to speculation of a growing rift between under-fire boss Andre Villas-Boas and his senior players.
But Drogba dismissed these claims as he sat alongside Villas-Boas in a show of unity in their press conference ahead of Chelsea's last-16 UEFA Champions League tie at Napoli.
Leaders
He said: "I want to make things clear - the manager made the speech at half-time and after that I think he's got some leaders in the team.
"We are here to help him. After that we were trying to bring the team up after half-time and nothing more.
"We did what the manager wanted us to do and apply what he was saying.
"I think people are making a big thing about nothing."
Chelsea were trailing 1-0 to Chris Hughton's side at the break before rescuing a 1-1 draw through Daniel Sturridge's second-half strike.
