Michel Vorm has bid farewell to the 'Swansea family' after completing his move to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
After three years at the Liberty Stadium, the Dutch goalkeeper has decided to take on a new challenge at White Hart Lane.
He is leaving behind a first team role in South Wales to compete with France international Hugo Lloris for the No.1 jersey in north London.
Vorm is, however, looking forward to the challenge and has taken the opportunity to thank Swansea for providing him with the platform on which to further his career.
He told the club’s official website: “I think I am leaving Swansea with my head held high and I hope I have left a good impression as a person and player on and off the pitch.
“The people of Swansea have been good to me and my family and it is something we will never forget.
“I’m going to miss the Swansea family because we’ve been through a lot together over the last three years, but that’s football.
“I am moving to a big club and it’s a good challenge for me. Sometimes when a club like Spurs comes along you have to consider the future and make a decision.”
Vorm, who was signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2011, added: “Swansea has been very good to me from the very first second I stepped out on to the pitch at Manchester City to the last second against Southampton.
“It’s been one hell of a ride, but an enjoyable one.
“I’ve seen Swansea grow over the last three years and people talk positively about the club – whether that’s in Holland, Britain, Dubai or the States – for what it has achieved on and off the pitch.
“We’ve beaten some big teams over the last three years and I believe Swansea will continue to establish themselves as a Premier League club over the next three.”
