Man Utd to miss out on FA semi-final spot, Everton to stumble at Palace, says Charlie Nicholas

Charlie Nicholas makes his midweek predictions with Manchester United and Everton in action

Charlie Nicholas has tipped West Ham to progress to the FA Cup semi-finals at Manchester United's expense on Wednesday.

Slaven Bilic and Louis van Gaal's sides meet in an FA Cup quarter-final replay at Upton Park - the final FA Cup tie at the ground ahead of the Hammers' move to the Olympic Stadium this summer.

There's also action in the Premier League as Crystal Palace host Everton in a fixture brought forward due to both teams' progression to the FA Cup last four.

Here's what the Soccer Saturday pundit is predicting in Wednesday's domestic double-header...

West Ham v Manchester United (FA Cup quarter-final replay)

I fancied West Ham before the weekend and I've got no reason to change my mind. If United think they played well at Spurs, with one shot on target, they don't know much about winning football matches.

Andy Carroll was brilliant against Arsenal but I really don't know why people are on the Euros bandwagon after one performance, although he'll be relishing going up against Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.

United have never enjoyed going to West Ham, even under Sir Alex Ferguson, so I'm going to back the home side, with Payet relishing the big game again.

Charlie predicts: 2-0 and Payet to score first (60/1 with Sky Bet)

Crystal Palace v Everton (Premier League)

Well, we're obviously well aware of the Everton situation and Roberto Martinez can't hide from the fact that this gifted team are underachieving.

This club has to focus everything on the FA Cup semi-final, although the fans' demands mean Martinez can't take his foot off the gas in the league unless he doesn't mind seeing more banners.

Roberto Martinez understands why Everton's fans are unhappy with their recent form.

Palace got their win at the weekend which means they can relax again and I think, with Everton focusing on the cup, they will win again.

Charlie predicts: 2-1 (9/1 with Sky Bet)
