Wayne Rooney's testimonial match raised £1.2m for the Wayne Rooney Foundation, which will benefit four children's charities.

Manchester United played Everton - Rooney's only two clubs - in August and played out a 0-0 draw as his 12-year stay at Old Trafford was recognised.

The profits, after operating costs from the fixture, will go towards a target of £5m which will help children in the long run.

Rooney set up this foundation to improve and inspire the lives of youngsters faced with issues such as health problems, abuse and educational difficulties.

Now the NSPCC, Claire House Children's Hospice, Alder Hey Children's Charity and the Manchester United Foundation will be able to make use of cash raised at Rooney's testimonial.
