All the latest Man Utd transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Monday, July 24.

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti admits the club are prepared to sell Ivan Perisic if Manchester United meet their asking price.

Sky Sports News reported earlier in the week that United and Inter were close to agreeing a fee for the Croatia winger, who the Serie A club want £48m for.

"He is a fantastic player and if his future is totally up to me, I will definitely keep him," Spalletti told a media conference.

"However, if an offer comes and the club are satisfied with the money, which will be used to invest in and strengthen the team, he could leave."

Manchester United are also ready to offer Paris Saint-Germain £70m for midfielder Marco Verratti, according to the Daily Express.

The French side are keen for any deal to involve Anthony Martial moving the other way but United are hoping that an increased bid will be enough to break their resolve without losing the Frenchman.

A pursuit of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale would have been a waste of time, says Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

"No [he was not on the list of targets)... because you have contacts, you have feelings, you understand things," he said ahead of Sunday's friendly with his former side.

"I think it was clear that Bale likes Madrid, likes the challenge, likes the situation. He's in a club in a very good situation now. I never felt a desire from him to leave, so why lose time and energy on that? No."
