Brown admits striker has been 'a breath of fresh air'

Phil Brown is keen to persuade Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell to stay at Hull City. Campbell joined Hull on loan in October and has scored five goals in 12 appearances for the Championship club. Tigers boss Brown wants to extend the loan deal until the end of the season after being impressed with the 20-year-old. He is now planning talks with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and hopes to fix up a deal to retain Campbell.

Strong character

"You see a lad who is quickly learning his trade in the Championship and, hopefully, with a bit of luck, we will be able to convince him to stay at Hull City for the second half of the season," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "But we also have to be able to convince Sir Alex Ferguson that it is the right move for him. "Fraizer is a very strong character and, knowing his parents as I have got to do, he will have been educated in the right way. "He has come into the club and he has been a breath of fresh air. Importantly, he is enjoying his football and, hopefully, that will continue."
