Nemanja Vidic feels winning the league has helped ease the pressure on Utd ahead of Saturday's final.

Skipper feels winning league means all concentration is on Europe

Nemanja Vidic feels winning the Premier League has helped ease the pressure on Manchester United ahead of this weekend's UEFA Champions League final. United will battle Spanish heavyweights Barcelona for the European trophy at Wembley on Saturday night having already wrapped up the domestic title. And captain Vidic, who led United to the league prize on his first season as skipper at Old Trafford, feels that feat has alleviated some of the heat ahead of the Barca showdown. "In the end, if you finish the season without a trophy you're not really satisfied as the captain," said Vidic. "It was lucky this year we won the Premier League and we can focus now on this big game that's coming on Saturday."

Honoured

Serbian centre-back Vidic says he feels privileged to have captained United to the final as Sir Alex Ferguson's side prepare for Saturday's clash. "I'm honoured to be the captain at such a big club and lead the team to big games," he added. "We're doing the stuff that we do as usual. It's more about being ready mentally and physically. "We've played so many games this year, (but) we're all fit and we're just trying to prepare ourselves for the big game."
