Dutch playmaker expected to remain in Italy

The agent of Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder is confident his client will see out the winter transfer window in Italy. Speculation continues to link the Holland international with a January switch elsewhere, with Manchester United still reported to be keen. The Red Devils were heavily linked with Sneijder over the summer, but no move materialised. It is also being reported that United's arch-rivals, Manchester City, are keen on the 27-year-old midfielder, with a possible swap deal involving Carlos Tevez mooted. Sneijder, though, has moved to play down the discussion regarding his future, with the Dutchman announcing that he expects to remain with Inter.

No offers

His representative has now echoed those thoughts, with Soren Lerby of the opinion that no deal will be done during the current window. He told calciomercato.com: "I really think that Wesley will remain at Inter, because a few weeks ago he said he was 90 per cent sure that he would stay. "Why didn't he say 100 per cent? He wasn't trying to hide any problems he has with the club or the coach, or any offers from other clubs. He left a small percentage, because in football anything can happen. "For that same season, I would answer in the same way when asked about his future." Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news on Sky Sports News and Sky Sports News Radio .
