Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says his side cannot afford to underestimate Club Brugge.

Van Gaal was speaking at his press conference ahead of United's Champions League play-off second leg against the Belgian club on Wednesday.

The Premier League side lead the tie 3-1, courtesy of two goals from Memphis Depay and one from Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford, but Van Gaal warned that the job was not complete.

"We are still not there yet, it's very important," said the Dutchman.

"We have to play the game, at the end you have to have scored more than one goal than the opponent. They have beaten Greek opponents 3-0, they are capable of doing that with the support of their fans."

The former Ajax and Barcelona manager added: "I don't think my players will take it easy.

"We have had the same preparation and I don't think they shall start differently as last week. Fellaini's goal was very important because now we can start this game with a lot more confidence. But as you know maybe we had to finish much earlier also in that game."

Fellaini echoed his manager's statement but remained confident about the club's chances of qualification.

"At the moment we are doing well," said the Belgium international.

"We don't concede and we can score. We have a lot of quality in the team - we can do well in the Champions League."
