Nemanja Matic believes Tottenham Hotspur have made this season's Premier League title race harder than their 2014/15 win.

Tottenham's 2-0 win over Arsenal in the north London derby kept them four points behind leaders Chelsea following the Blues' three-goal victory over Everton earlier on Sunday.

Manchester City were Chelsea's closest challengers as Jose Mourinho led the Stamford Bridge club to their last league triumph two seasons ago, but Matic believes Spurs will push them even harder this time around.

"I think this year is more difficult," Matic said. "We finished 2015 eight points clear of Man City. I'm not sure this will be the case with Tottenham.

"I'm sure they will not give up until end of the season. At this moment it's hard, but we will see. Each time we win, they win, two years ago that was not the case."

Chelsea face already-relegated Sunderland on the final day of the season following games against Middlesbrough, West Brom and Watford.

Tottenham have a local derby against West Ham United and host Manchester United before taking on champions Leicester City and ending their season at Hull City, but Matic insists Chelsea can afford no slip-ups while Spurs keep winning.

"This season is hard. We win and Tottenham win, they are always close," Matic added. "But the important thing is that we are playing well, we take points and we will see if they can drop some points.

"They have some difficult games, home and away, so everything is open until the end."
