Blues winger adamant he can succeed in England

Florent Malouda is confident that he can be a success at Chelsea after a frustrating debut season. The French international arrived at Stamford Bridge in a big-money move from Lyon last summer, but injuries and a dip in form have restricted him to just 16 starts in the Premier League. The winger accepts that there will be changes at the Blues over the summer, and that he may find himself on the move once more, but has asked for more time in which to prove himself. He has put in a number of promising performances in Europe of late and is hoping to be given another chance to shine in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final against Manchester United.

No doubts

"I've been a starter more regularly in Europe and I'd look back at this year as a success if I ended up winning the European Cup with this team," Malouda said in the Daily Express. "My lack of games is not down to me. It's the coach's choice. All I can do is keep trying hard to be ready if selected. "I've never doubted my ability or whether I could make my mark in this league. "I came here to win trophies and on Wednesday I have the chance to do that."
