Frank Lampard has bemoaned the yellow card Chelsea captain John Terry picked up against Liverpool that will see him miss the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Terry, whose side triumphed 3-1 at Anfield on Wednesday, was booked by Danish referee Claus Bo Larsen after he went in for a challenge with Reds goalkeeper Jose Reina.
Having already picked up two yellow cards in this season's Champions League, a third means the defender will be absent from the home meeting with their Premier League rivals.
The England skipper has already vented his frustration at the decision, and now Lampard has intimated that the referee was influenced when making his call.
He told
Sky Sports: "I think JT went for the ball as he always does, and I think the crowd and a few of their players made it a bit worse, and got him booked.
Malouda
"It is unfortunate that we will miss him, but hopefully we will go through and he will have a clean bill come the next round."
Winger Florent Malouda added: "We talked about it before the game, the people that could miss a game due to bookings.
"Of course Terry is our captain and we will have to give everything on the pitch. But the manager is there to solve that kind of problem.
"But we have to carry on. As you saw, when (Branislav) Ivanovic came in the team, everybody can contribute."
