On-loan midfielder says Abbott is key to his future

Tom Taiwo is open to extending his loan deal at Carlisle United providing Greg Abbott remains as the club's manager. Chelsea midfielder Taiwo is on loan at Brunton Park until the end of December and he has so far made 26 appearances for the Cumbrians. He could stay with the League One club until the end of the season and the 19-year-old has praised the role Abbott has played in his recent progress. "What happens with me next is all about what happens with the manager," Taiwo told the News & Star. "He has been really good for my development and put a lot of faith in me. "He is the key reason as to whether I stay or go." Taiwo, who has yet to make his Chelsea debut, scored his first goal for Carlisle in Tuesday's 3-2 home win over Hartlepool United.
