Chelsea striker Didier Drogba says the current campaign is the 'hardest' he has experienced during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The 2011/12 season has been a largely forgettable one for all concerned with the Blues, with their title dreams having faded some time ago.
They remain in the hunt for FA Cup and UEFA Champions League glory, but pressure is mounting by the week on under-fire coach Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese tactician has shouldered much of the responsibility for Chelsea's failings this season, with it already suggested that he could be on borrowed time.
Drogba admits it has been a testing season for everyone, with the club in danger of slipping off the lofty perch they have enjoyed for the majority of Roman Abramovich's time at the helm.

"It is the hardest season I've known here," said the Ivorian, who joined the Blues from Marseille in 2004.
"The players and fans are used to being in the first two or three but this is different."
Drogba is also keen to point out that an underperforming squad must be prepared to shoulder some of the blame for Chelsea's struggles this season.
He added: "You know how it is when you come with a lot of ambition and it doesn't go the way you want, it's difficult.
"It's not easy for him (Villas-Boas) but he's not the only one who is responsible, we all are."
