Liverpool have entered into a three-year global partnership with Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. ahead of the launch of the forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) gaming editions.
Spanish giants Barcelona teamed up with Konami at the end of last month and the partnership with Liverpool comes a week after EA Sports - makers of FIFA 17 - struck a deal with Manchester United to become the club's official video games partner.
Liverpool will offer Konami unrivalled access to their players to ensure that the in-game Liverpool FC side will truly replicate the team's overall and individual playing style in the soon to be released PES 2017.
All three related Liverpool kits will be available within the game, while Anfield - inclusive of the soon-to-be-unveiled Main Stand, will also be authentically reproduced for PES 2017 users via a free download soon after the game's September release.
The game's 'myClub' mode will also allow fans to add Liverpool FC legends - including Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush - to their home-grown squads.
Liverpool's chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Konami, whose attention to detail will make sure that Liverpool FC is well represented and will help us to continue to engage with our fans in new and exciting ways.
"Konami's ability to produce realistic football games that feature players that both look and move like their real-life counterparts is amazing. We cannot wait for our fans to see the Reds line up in the new game in all their glory."
Konami's Jonas Lygaard added: "Konami is committed to working with the very best in modern football, and Liverpool FC is the perfect partner, with its rich history, huge fan base and dynamic style of play implemented by manager Jürgen Klopp."
