Accrington Stanley plan to make a bid to sign Liverpool defender Godwin Antwi on loan.
Antwi made nine appearances for the League Two club at the end of the 2006/07 season and played in an influential role in Stanley staying up.
He spent last season on loan at Hartlepool United and could be shipped out of Anfield on a temporary basis again during the coming campaign.
If Reds boss Rafa Benitez agrees to another loan for the Ghanaian, then Accrington will be making their interest known.
Assistant manager Jimmy Bell told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Myself and John (Coleman) have spoken about him and it hasn't really gone any further than that at the moment.
"But he's certainly a player that we will be pursuing."
