Brendan Rodgers claims to have already put a frustrating transfer window to the back of his mind, despite seeing Liverpool beaten 2-0 at home by Arsenal.
The Reds boss conceded on deadline day that he was hoping to add at least one fresh face to his Anfield squad, preferably two.
He was, however, left empty-handed, with top targets heading elsewhere.
Rodgers looked short of options on Sunday as Liverpool's disappointing start to the 2012/13 campaign hit a new low on home soil.
He is, however, refusing to dwell on what might have been, with it up to him to bring the best out of those at his disposal.
Opportunity
"That's something I can't control now," Rodgers told
Sky Sports.
"We had an opportunity to do that, but we have got what we've got.
"The players have given everything, so I can't blame them. We put the group out there to do the best they can, and that's what they've done. We'll assess it again in January.
"It doesn't matter. It's gone and I'm focused on the players that are here and getting the best out of them that I possibly can."
A lot was made on the back of Rodgers' arrival at Anfield about the brand of football he would look to get Liverpool playing, having turned former employers Swansea into a free-flowing and entertaining outfit.
Style
He is, however, keen to point out that the early teething problems he is enduring have nothing to do with a change in approach or tactical tinkering.
"It's absolutely nothing to do with style," added Rodgers.
"The style and system is irrelevant, it's about decision making and keeping the ball. There is still a long way to go.
"It's nothing to do with style, we just need to take more care with the ball. Across the team that's something which will come.
"I can't question the players' attitude, their commitment has been brilliant since I've come in and today they've given everything."
