Jack Wilshere returns to full training ahead of Arsenal comeback

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in full training as he looks to return from a broken leg.

The 24-year old, whose last two seasons have been hit by injury, has not featured at all this campaign after suffering a broken fibula in pre-season.

The injury was initially expected to keep the England man out for just a month, but subsequent scans revealed the need for surgery, which he underwent in September.

While he will not be considered for this weekend's Premier League clash with Watford, Wilshere could play a part for the U21s as early as next week.

"Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky are back in full training. Basically they are progressing well," Wenger told the club's official website.

"We have not decided that (if Wilshere will feature for U21s) yet. It is his first week back in full training and we'll see how he responds to that, but the first signs are quite good. We'll assess our options next week."

Fellow midfielder Rosicky has been out of action since January with a thigh muscle strain.

Wenger also revealed this weekend's game will come too soon for Aaron Ramsey (hip) and Mathieu Flamini (hamstring), but he could be boosted by the return of goalkeeper Petr Cech.

"Cech is going back to normal training. It's too early to say if he will be available for the weekend. He might be a bit short to be competitive," added Wenger.

Cech has missed over four weeks of action since picking up a calf injury in Arsenal's 2-1 home defeat to Swansea on March 2.

Meanwhile, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are still some way off a return from Achilles and knee injuries respectively.

Cazorla is, however, running again and could return in three-to-four weeks, while Wenger noted Oxlade-Chamberlain is "progressing well," and remains hopeful to return before the end of the season.
