Young defender happy at Gunners

Young Arsenal defender Justin Hotye says he is prepared to fight for his place in Arsene Wenger's team. Hoyte finds himself one of several players vying for one starting place, as Wenger has five right-backs in his squad. Since the signings of Lassana Diarra and Bacary Sagna in the summer, Hoyte has only made one appearance for the club, but the 22-year-old is looking to stake his claim. "That's how football is," he told Arsenal's official website. "It just makes me more determined to work hard and get my place in the side. I want to be at Arsenal all my life."

Competition

Last season Hoyte made 36 appearances for the Gunners and hopes that the extra competition in the squad can be good for the team. "Yes the competition is tough but it is the same as last year with Emmanuel Eboue playing and Mathieu Flamini in there sometimes too. Competition is good for us and good for the team," he added. "Hopefully I can work hard in training and break into the team. I just want to play as much as I can."
