Frenchman happy with decision to join Milan

Mathieu Flamini believes he made the right decision to join AC Milan even though he will not be playing UEFA Champions League football this season. The Frenchman agreed to move to the San Siro from Arsenal before the end of last season's Serie A. Milan only managed to finish fifth, meaning they qualified for the Uefa Cup rather than the more prestigious Champions League. They also started the new campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Bologna. Flamini is still comfortable with his choice and is now targeting Uefa Cup glory as well as domestic success with his new club. "I don't regret deciding to join AC Milan before knowing the results of the Serie A last season," Flamini told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'm happy with the choice I've made. Milan has given me trust and I'm trying to repay them. We can always win the Uefa Cup." Flamini will be cheering on his two previous clubs in the Champions League and has tipped Arsenal to go a long way. "I will support Marseille and Arsenal in the Champions League," he said. "I believe Arsenal can do something good in the competition."
