Belgium ace could miss Latics encounter

Everton have confirmed Marouane Fellaini is a doubt to feature in the club's weekend Premier League clash against Wigan Athletic. The Belgium international tweaked his groin in last Sunday's 1-1 home draw against Middlesbrough. Fellaini sat out Belgium's midweek friendly against Luxembourg and now he is undergoing treatment in a bid to feature against the Latics. "Fellaini has a very slight groin strain which he felt in the game against Middlesbrough," physio Mick Rathbone told the club's official website.

Treatment

"He then joined up with the Belgium squad but they agreed with our assessment and sent him back. He's now having treatment ahead of the game against Wigan." Australia international Tim Cahill and Steve Pienaar are also injury doubts, although Rathbone believes Cahill will make it while South African Pienaar is touch and go. "My information from the Australian medical team was that Tim played 87 minutes and was essentially okay," he continued. "Pienaar has a sore knee. We'll have to see how he goes in the next few days and see if he's okay."
