Baggies assistant confirms forwards could feature at the weekend

West Brom duo Peter Odemwingie and Romelu Lukaku are both hoping to be fit for Saturday's clash with Everton after missing Tuesday's cup win at Yeovil. Odemwingie has been the focus of transfer speculation linking him with a summer move away from the Hawthorns and missed his second successive game in Albion's 4-2 Capital One Cup win. Chelsea loanee Lukaku also sat out the trip to Huish Park but Baggies assistant manager Keith Downing has calmed fears the pair could be unavailable at the weekend. "I don't think Peter is far away," said Downing. "We'll have to assess him Wednesday/Thursday and nearer the weekend we'll be able to shed a bit more light on his fitness - but it's not a serious one. "So I would think he would be very close to being in the squad on Saturday.

Not far away

"Lukaku has a training-ground injury he sustained on the Sunday. He won't be far away." Jerome Thomas is another of the forward options who has been unavailable to new boss Steve Clarke so far this season and Downing revealed the winger is working hard to return soon. He added: "Jerome's injured at the moment and therefore hasn't figured for the last few weeks. "He's just on the treatment table trying to get himself fit."
