Everton assistant boss pleased with new arrivals

Everton assistant manager Steve Round has hailed his club's transfer activity this summer. The Toffees signed Costa Rica international Bryan Oviedo from Copenhagen on Friday to add to the acquisitions of Steven Pienaar, Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas they had already made earlier in the summer. Round is pleased with Everton's business in the transfer market over the past three or so months and believes that this is one of the main reasons for their impressive start to the season. "We may find getting Steven Naismith for nothing is one of the best signings of the summer," he is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. "He's a player of that standard at that level who has slotted in so quickly into the Everton way. It was tremendous business.

Settled team

"The two signings [Pienaar and Naismith] we made early on settled everyone down. The team is settled and you could sense that in the dressing room. "We hadn't lost a star name, a Lescott or an Arteta. The team could see the club was showing some ambition and that gave quite a positive feel." Everton will be seeking their third successive victory in the Premier League on Saturday when they take on West Browwich Albion away.
