Jaaskelainen and Gardner pen long-term contracts

Jussi Jaaskelainen has signed a new four-year deal with Bolton and Ricardo Gardner has also committed his future to the club. Goalkeeper Jaaskelainen was tipped to leave the Reebok Stadium for much of last season and was linked with a number of other clubs. He turned down Bolton's first contract offer but decided to stay after they clinched their Premier League survival. Jaaskelainen's contract expired earlier this summer but he agreed terms on a new deal and has now put pen-to-paper after returning to pre-season training. The Finland international joined the Trotters in 1997 and has gone on to become one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the Premier League. Gardner has also been at Bolton for a decade after arriving in England in 1998 on the back of an impressive showing for Jamaica at the World Cup in France. The versatile defender, who can also play in midfield, has inked a three-year extension.
