Pole signs on at the Reebok

Ebi Smolarek is officially a Bolton player after penning a season-long loan deal on Sunday. The Trotters revealed on Saturday that they had reached an agreement with the Poland international's parent club Racing Santander. The striker was in the stands at Reebok Stadium to see his new team-mates grind out a 0-0 draw with West Brom on Saturday and will be hoping to add some much-needed firepower to the Trotters attack. The 27-year old began his career in Holland with Feyenoord, before spending two seasons in Germany with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. His keen eye for goal then attracted the attention of Santander, with the Spaniards splashing out 4.8million euros (£3.9m) last summer. He struggled to replicate his previous goalscoring form in the Primera Liga, despite being a first-team regular for a side which qualified for the Uefa Cup through a sixth place finish. Meanwhile, having welcomed one new face, Bolton look set to part company with another. Swiss international midfielder Blerim Dzemaili is poised to join Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan after failing to make an impact in England following his switch from FC Zurich in 2007.
