Forest boss to rebuff Reading interest

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has rubbished suggestions that Nathan Tyson could be allowed to join Reading. The 27-year-old striker has been linked with a big-money switch to the Madejski Stadium after Davies moved to add David McGoldrick and Dele Adebola to his attacking options this summer. However, Davies insists Tyson remains a key part of his plans and that the former Wycombe man is going nowhere. "I spoke to him and told him I had no intention of letting him go anywhere," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "He is part of this very strong front group of players we are trying to build up. "As far as I am concerned, there can be as much speculation as you like. "We have no intention of letting Nathan Tyson go because he is the type of player we need and will complement the players we have got."

Loans

Meanwhile, youngsters Shane Redmond and James Reid have left the club on loan. Republic of Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper Redmond has joined Football League newcomers Burton, while 19-year-old winger Reid heads to Blue Square Premier outfit Rushden and Diamonds. Both are six-month deals with the view to extending them until the end of the season.
