Redknapp wary of Elano

Harry Redknapp has admitted that Brazilian ace Elano poses a real threat.

Brazilian has been a revelation since summer move

Speaking ahead of Portsmouth's clash against Manchester City, Harry Redknapp has admitted that Brazilian ace Elano poses a real threat, however he believes that Sven Goran Eriksson should be worried about Pompey's current form. Elano has been a revelation this season since his summer move from Shakhtar Donetsk, and Redknapp's back line will have to be on their toes if they are to restrict the playmaker. However, Portsmouth are on an unbeaten run of seven Premier League games, and Redknapp is confident ahead of Sunday's encounter.

Special treatment

"Everything flows through him." he said. "He makes goals, scores goals and causes teams a lot of problems, but I've not really got an out-and-out man-marker in my squad and we'll play as we normally play. "City have lots of other quality players. Sven inherited a good nucleus with people like Richard Dunne, Micah Richards and Didi Hamann and tacked on four or five good new signings. "But after our 4-1 win at Newcastle last week I think they are more likely to be saying `how do we stop them'."
