Pompey send youngster out on loan

Bournemouth have completed the signing of Portsmouth's Joel Ward on a season-long loan. The midfielder could make his debut against Gillingham on Saturday while he will also be eligible for all cup competitions, providing the Cherries are not drawn against his parent club. Kevin Bond is excited about the prospect of working with the youngster and expects him to be pushing for a place in his first-team plans. "He's a good young prospect with a terrific attitude," he said. "He'll certainly play his part for us this season and he's one of those players who will be a lot better at the end of the season as he's got a lot of development in him. "If I was concerned about putting him in my first team I wouldn't have brought him here. I've got no doubts that he can handle it and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does."
