Youngster eager to make an impact after Dagenham loan
Matt Ritchie is hoping to make an impact at Portsmouth after being offered a new two-year contract.
The teenager has spent the season on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge and has weighed in with 12 goals for the League Two club.
He has enjoyed playing regular first-team football and the attacker is now eyeing up a long-term future with Portsmouth.
"It's been a fantastic year for me," Ritchie told The News. "I couldn't have predicted it would go as well as this.
"Obviously I wanted to play first-team football somewhere and Dagenham & Redbridge has proven to be the right club.
"My main goal, though, is to play for Pompey. They are the team I support and that is my dream. Whatever it takes to achieve that I'll do it.
"I've been offered a two-year deal now and I want to sign it because I see my future here.
"Hopefully I can get noticed. Of course I haven't made it yet, I realise that."
