Mauricio Pochettino has turned Tottenham into title challengers while overseeing a revolution at the club, according to Chris Hughton.

Brighton manager Hughton won two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup during a 13-year playing career at Spurs but never finished higher than third in the league.

The current team's 2-1 win at Manchester City kept them second, just two points behind Leicester, and Pochettino afterwards admitted supporters are right to dream of just a third title in the club's history.

The Argentine arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2014 after Spurs spent Gareth Bale's world record fee on several new players only to sack two managers in the space of five months.

Hughton said: "What Pochettino's done has been outstanding, because in the initial period when he came into the club there had been a massive recruitment process just before.
