Tottenham want to have White Hart Lane station renamed 'Tottenham Hotspur' in time for their stadium move, according to Sky sources.
Work began earlier this year on the club's new 61,000-seat arena, which is due for completion ahead of the 2018/9 Premier League season.
And sources say Spurs want the nearby rail station renamed, although no talks have yet taken place between the club and Transport for London.
The cost could be an issue, with some reports suggesting a rebranding could cost as much as £12m.
Arsenal went down a similar road 84 years ago when pioneering manager Herbert Chapman successfully lobbied to have Piccadilly Line station Gillespie Road renamed 'Arsenal'.
Some Spurs supporters still refer to the stop by its former name.
