Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a superstar for Manchester United, says Ray Wilkins

Ray Wilkins believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a 'superstar' and claims there is 'no questioning' the striker's quality ahead of this weekend's match against Tottenham.

Ibrahimovic has enjoyed a mixed start to his career at Old Trafford but is currently in a rich vein of form having scored five goals in his last four games in all competitions - including a late strike against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday.

The 35-year-old will be hoping to impress when United take on Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday, live on Sky Sports, but Wilkins already likes what he sees from the Swede.

"I think his biggest strength is his personality," Wilkins said. "Nothing fazes him. He's up for every game, he plays in every game. He's 35 years of age, you know all of a sudden we're writing off Rooney at 31, this guy is 35.

"He's a terrific goalscorer. He's missed a couple of chances this year and at times he's struggled to get into our Premier League pace of the game I think, but there's no questioning this guy.

"He's won championships wherever he's been in world football and he's a superstar. He's just the personality I felt that Manchester United needed to push them forward and I think he's been a really good signing as far as United are concerned."

Jose Mourinho hasn't enjoyed the best of starts to life as United boss, having won just five league matches so far this season.

Sunday's visitors to Old Trafford, Tottenham, are also well off the pace in the league and trail leaders Chelsea by seven points.

Defeat against United this weekend would be a hammer blow to Spurs' title chances but Wilkins says Harry Kane can inspire the visitors to victory in Manchester.

"I think Harry's biggest strength is his goalscoring ability, he does have a knack at turning up at the right place at the right time," Wilkins said.

"He's got two fantastic feet but he doesn't have dynamic pace and so to have two feet is a massive advantage for him.

"When he was out injured Tottenham struggled to score and they need Harry in there. They need him in there to bring other people into the game but they also need his goalscoring prowess as well.

"They missed that immensely and I think he's a vital cog in that Tottenham outfit.

"He will improve as well, he's only a young man. He's got so much improving to do that I think we'll see Harry Kane scoring goals for many many years in that white Tottenham shirt."
